Duties

Duties include:

  • Answering questions and/or coordinating with other staff to assist citizens.
  • Compiling information for the Uniform Crime Report (U.C.R.). The U.C.R. data is forwarded to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and then to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, for inclusion in various crime statistics, including the F.B.I.'s annual "Uniform Crime Report" which has nationwide information on crime.
  • Forwarding case related documents, transcripts and recordings to the State Attorney's Office and the Clerk of Court's Office for prosecution.
  • Greeting citizens coming to the police department lobby.
  • Making police records accessible to the public, either for inspection or more often by making copies.
  • Reviewing police reports
  • Storing copies of police reports. Most all records are stored electronically and are converted from paper to electronic format.
