Recreation Programs

Please be sure to register early to avoid class cancellation due to low enrollment or program closure due to maximum enrollment being met. All programs are held at the Jessie Brock Community Center, 310 North Dillard Street, unless otherwise noted.

Available Programs

Programs starting on September 1 or after will be available for registration starting August 16 unless stated differently in the program description. 

Ballet Basics for Adults

A basic level traditional ballet class for teens and adults with no previous experience or those looking to rediscover ballet after a long break. Class concentrates on proper body mechanics and barre work.

  • $80 City Resident | $85 Nonresident per five-week session

Beginning Tap Dance (Postponed) 

Students will learn the beginning fundamentals of tap dance with making rhythmic sounds with their feet. Upon completion, students will have a basic understanding of tap dance and rhythm with and without music.

Citizens CPR Program

Interested in learning how to take a hands on approach towards saving lives? The City of Winter Garden Fire Rescue Department is offering a free 90 minute citizens cpr program to the community. The course will cover;

  • Hands only Adult and Child CPR
  • Proper AED use
  • Adult and Child Choking

Upon completion, participants will earn a certificate acknowledging their successful demonstration and learned concepts detailed in the program. To register, please visit enroll.wgplay.com. Pre-registration is required, space is limited to 12 participants.

  • 9:30 – 11:00 am or 11:30 am – 1:00 pm

Classes will be held at the Fire Department Headquarters Training Room located at 1 East Cypress Street

Creative Movement

This unique program introduces basic dance ballet technique and movement through dance, games and song. Class focus is on gross motor skills, left|right, body awareness, ballet positions, and beginner ballet technique and language. Advanced registration required.

Genealogy – Discovering Who You Are

Looking for ways to discover clues related to your family’s history? Join June Kelly on her quest to teach you how to interpret and utilize public sources in finding out more about who you are and where you came from. 

  • Tuesdays | September 26 – November 14
  • 5:30 – 7:00 pm

Preschool Holiday Programs

All preschool holiday programs are free! Programs are for children ages 3 to 5! Bring a friend or a group. 

Halloween Spooktacular, Friday, October 27

Enjoy fall carnival games while dressed in your spookiest costume. Finish the morning off with holiday themed craft and office trick or treating! 

Cocoa & Cookies with Santa, Friday, December 15

Come enjoy a cup of hot cocoa and story time with Ms. Clause, holiday themed craft, and meet and greet with Santa Clause. 

Little Cupid’s Carnival, Wednesday, February 14

Join us for arts & crafts, fun games, face painting and fun holiday themed activities!
