City of Winter Garden Wastewater Treatment Facility Undergoing an Upgrade - Construction Activity to be Expected in the Area
Construction to upgrade the Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF) commences mid-February 2025 and continues for approximately 36 months.
Located at 101 E. Crest Ave, nearby residents and those traveling through the area should expect construction-related activities during weekday business operating hours.
The upgrade (WWTF Capacity Expansion & Process Optimization project) will increase the WWTF/s capacity, optimize its operations, increase effluent water quality, and enhance treatment capabilities beyond current State regulations. When completed, the capacity of the water being treated will increase from an annual average daily flow of 4.75-million gallon per day (mgd) to 7.5 mgd.
Project improvements will include a new elevated concrete structure with grit removal, upgrades to the influent pump station, the installation of an additional concrete storage tank, a new biological odor control system, and new effluent pumps. In addition, a new covered chemical feed facility will be constructed as well as a new electrical building with emergency power generation capabilities.
The funding for the WWTF Capacity Expansion & Process Optimization project was approved by the City Commission in December 2024.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
